How to make up your mind when confusion reigns....
We all fall into this trap sometimes. We have to make a decision or several decisions and we can't see the forest for the trees. We toss all the pros and cons around in our head for hours, sometimes days, weeks and even months. Then when we can't make a decision we become 'frozen' and we either give up, or the universe forces our hands. So instead of jumping off the cliff on our own time and terms, we are pushed over the edge and fear and panic usually then becomes overwhelming.
Here are some steps to take that might make the decision process quicker, grounded and less overwhelming.
1.Decide exactly what it is that you want.
Be as specific as you can. Write out all the choices that you have to make, and all the options that are available to you. Jot down your 'DESIRED FEELINGS', how you want to FEEL - not just what you want to physically happen. Visit author Danielle LaPorte at her website http://www.daniellelaporte.com/ to see her #truthbombs and books including The Desire Map that changed my life !
2.Research and fact find.
You will make a more informed and stronger decision if you know all the facts and information around the choices that you want to make. This will bring you confidence and you will have all the resources you need to take the purposeful action steps required to get you where you need to be.
3.Fix your mind on your decision.
Trust your natural intuition and decision-making abilities and don't question your decisions. You are now firmly on your path and moving forward.
4.Put it in writing.
Write it all out by pen on paper. This is important because the brain actually records the information more than typing it out on a laptop or tablet. Seeing it written out in the physical on a daily basis will help you achieve the steps needed to get where you need to be. Writing it out also keeps you on track, doing things step by step that is needed and stops you from procrastinating and not keeping yourself accountable.
5.Put alarms and prompts into your online calendar and phone.
Now that you have steps to follow, make yourself accountable and on track by putting alarms and prompts into your online calendars and phones. By blocking out these times then you will never have the excuse that you just were too busy or that you forgot.
Most of all have fun with the process !
